An application has been lodged with Kildare County Council for development consisting of the demolition of an existing two storey office building and agricultural outbuildings and the construction of 170 No. dwellings on an 8.4 hectare site in Kildare Town. The development will also include a two storey commercial building with separate vehicular access from Tully Road comprising a crèche at ground floor level and office accommodation at first floor level. The applicants have sought a 10 year planning permission in order to complete the development as opposed to the normal 5 year period. A housing application of this size and scale is very much a rareity these days.
