How do you go about making a submission to the Development Plan?

Does it have to be detailed?

    How much does it cost?

    • kildareplanner Says:

A submission to a County Development Plan is quite straightforward and the level of detail involved is entirely up to yourself. The most common type of submission is a zoning or rezoning submission. Some submissions simply outline a particular piece of land in red and request the land to be rezoned to a particular zoning. Along with providing your name and address this is sufficient to constitute a submission. However, the more information that is availabe to the Council the more informed they are going to be when making a decision. A professionaly prepared submission by a planning consultant will do the homework for the planners and the elected members. Typically such a submission will outline the relevant guidelines, policies and objectives which pertain the subject site and demonstrate how the proposed zoning of the lands complies with these guidelines etc. It will also put forward any other reasons why the proposed zoning should be supported based on proper planning and sustainable development.

There is no cost involved in terms of lodging a submission with the Council.
