I cannot understand why Kildare County Council have given permission to this type of urban expansion. My home was flooded in 2008 and we learned at that time that there are several problems with drainage in Celbridge. This development will exasperate this situation and cause further expense to the County Council. It will also spoil views of Castletown House and Donaghcumper. The traffic situation will worsen in the village. There are empty unused buildings surrounding Celbridge that it would be more economical and environmentally friendly to adapt. I cannot see one good reason that this development should go ahead other than for the benefit of the developer.
