Kildare County Council’s decision to refuse service station on Athgarvan Road, Newbridge appealed

Tougher Oil Distributors have lodged a first party appeal with An Bord Pleanala in relation to the Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for a petrol service station, shop, delicatessen etc. on the Athgarvan Road, Newbridge.  The Council refused permission on the basis of traffic, restricted size of the site and lack of a sequential test for the retail element.


First Party Appeal – Downings North Prosperous, Co. Kildare

Mr. Joseph Conway has lodged a first party appeal on 12th October 2009 in relation to a decision by Kildare County Council to grant permission for 49 houses and 16 apartments in Downings North, Prosperous, Co. Kildare.

An Bord Pleanala Annual Report 2008: Facts about Planning Appeals in Kildare

The An Bord Pleanala Annual Report, 2008, was published recently.  It shows that 8.7% of all applications to Kildare County Council were appealed to the Board. A total of 40.6% of the Council’s decisions were confirmed by the Board, with 31.3% of decisions being reversed and  28.1% of decisions being varied.  The percentage of decisions being reversed by the Board is in line with the national average (32.6%).
