An Bord Pleanala Refuses Petrol Station in Celbridge
June 1, 2010An Bord Pleanala have refused planning permission for a petrol station at Crodaun, Celbridge, County Kildare following a third party appeal. The Board refused permission for 3 reasons which are summarised as follows:
1. The physical configuration of the proposed access and egress arrangements and the accompanying signage would create a complex environment for road users which would endanger public safety by reason of traffic hazard.
2. To permit the proposed access in the absence of a comprehensive assessment of the overall development proposals for the area would prejudice the potential access arrangements to lands zoned zoned retail/commercial in the Celbridge Local Area Plan, 2010.
3. A petrol station would materially contravene the zoning in the development plan.
